Project Overview

Scottish Water is progressing with its £38 million investment between Peterhead and Ellon, upgrading almost 23km of trunk water main.

This work will strengthen the resilience of the water network, helping ensure customers enjoy fresh, clear drinking water for years to come while reducing the risk of burst pipes.

Caledonia Water Alliance and AG Wilson are delivering this major investment on behalf of Scottish Water.

Latest Update - January 2026

Phase 2 of the project is currently underway, with about 14.3 km of the total 18.1 km for this phase completed so far. Some service transfers are still in progress. The remaining new water main is being brought into operation in sections, along with the associated service transfers.
