Balfron Station Bridge Repair Update

09 March 2018

Road users in the west of Stirlingshire are being advised of a completion date for repair work on a bridge at Balfron Station which was damaged in a road accident.

It is now anticipated that the work will be completed week beginning 7th May 2018, with associated road closures and diversions lifted at that time.

The road closure on the A81 between Balfron Station and the Ballat Crossroads remains in place whilst the repair work progresses.

The existing diversion, which was arranged in liaison with Stirling Council’s roads department, will also remain in place along the B834, A809 and A811travelling south to north and the reverse travelling north to south.

Ruaridh MacGregor, Scottish Water’s regional corporate affairs manager, said:

“With Stirling Council’s approval, we’ve recently extended our working week to seven days from 8am to 6pm to push this work on.

“We thank everyone for their patience and understanding whilst this essential work is carried out and we’d like to remind the public that local traders and companies remain open for business as usual while the road closure remains in place.”
