Volunteers stem the tide cleaning up beaches across Scotland

Teams of Scottish Water volunteers armed with litter pickers and disposal bags have cleaned dozens of adopted beaches the length and breadth of Scotland.

Stemming the tide of rubbish polluting Scotland’s beaches and coastlines is the aim behind Scottish Water’s ‘Adopt a beach’ campaign.

Since April teams of Scottish Water volunteers have been out combing selected beaches, stretching from Morayshire down to Dumfries, collecting and recording large volumes of rubbish which has been dumped or washed up on Scotland’s shorelines.
