As a repair and maintenance apprentice you will play a vital role in creating and maintaining our water and waste water network. Working with our experienced team you will develop your skills and the work experience and qualifications you will gain will set you up for a bright and rewarding career in repair and maintenance.

Electrical and Mechanical

Our Electrical & Mechanical apprenticeship is an engineering based apprenticeship and you will learn about all aspects of engineering maintenance. This role helps Scottish Water to ensure that the engineering equipment in our Water and Waste Water Treatment works and other similar assets is maintained effectively. You will do this through the application of the technical knowledge that you will gain through our specific training programme and by working with our operational teams within the Treatment Works, where you will be working.

Join us as a network service operator and you will play a vital role in delivering the service our customers rely on every day. If you want a role that is dynamic and offers a huge variety of tasks then you’ll be well suited to this role. We will develop your skills and talents through one to one mentoring with our experienced team members. You’ll spend time out in the field getting hands on experience and our team will be on hand to support you the whole way - not to mention you will gain qualifications at the same time.

We typically start our recruitment campaign for our large intake of Apprentices & Trainees from March of each year, with the programme starting in August.  You can let us know that you’re interested in an apprenticeship with us from February through our pre-registration process.

Outside of our large annual intake we do have opportunities to join Scottish Water as an apprentice throughout the year which are advertised on our current vacancies page. We have opportunities across the whole of Scotland up for grabs with vacancies coming up all year round so keep your eye on our vacancies page for the right one for you.
