We were awarded a major contract to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of water services for The City of Calgary’s water services business unit. The process undertaken saw our international lead consultants draw upon their expertise in water and sewerage operations and maintenance, service delivery, benchmarking, business processes and project and change management to undertake a high-level analysis of the service currently provided.

We secured a second contract in Calgary, Canada, and carried out the later stage review of the City of Calgary’s Water Resources business unit. The review evaluated three areas: service levels for wastewater, capital delivery and data management/analytics.

We delivered fifty recommendations for the Water Services and Water Resources units in the City of Calgary, which were estimated together to save a cumulative $19 - $25 million in efficiency and effectiveness gains.

Scottish Water International delivered training to operational staff in the water industry throughout Alberta, Canada. We delivered workshops across the province to explain and demonstrate the operation and maintenance of drinking water safety plans. By building on the experience from our own work in Scotland, we accelerated the implementation of drinking water safety plans for this large province, thereby ensuring the safety of the public water supply for millions of people.
