Keeping You Informed
Scottish Water provides you with clear, fresh drinking water and also removes waste water from your property. We are committed to keeping you and your community fully informed and involved when our work and future plans may affect you. This work is varied and could include water mains replacement, waste water improvements or building new treatment works.

This leaflet tells you how we will keep you and your community fully informed throughout any work we may be undertaking.
We are continually working in communities across Scotland to maintain and improve our water network. This is your guide to how we will be doing this work.
Often, before we start any major works we may need to carry out some survey work in your area. The work is needed to either survey our water pipes to ascertain if there is any need for future investment. We also carry out other investigative work to check ground conditions and to locate other utilities before undertaking upgrades or repairs to the water pipes.
Please note that because of the nature of this work, excavations may remain open for a number of days and there may be times when there is limited activity at the site. Please be assured that this is often necessary when we are monitoring the network or recording water levels. There may be some roadworks during the work and this may necessitate the use of temporary traffic lights and some access and/or parking restriction
