Community Engagement Promise
We are now in the final stages of our work in Airdrie. The last stages of work are taking place and we aim to minimise any disruption. If you are to be directly affected by any of our work we will notify you by letter or visit your property.
We also hold regular information events where our team will update local people and display the plans. The most recent event was held in February at Alexandra Primary School and was attended by a considerable number of people, including the local MSP. As a close neighbour of the works, we felt it was important that staff and pupils at Alexandra Primary School have as much information about the work as possible.
It is the aim of the project team to engage closely with local community groups, stakeholders and businesses; we held a competition with Alexandra Primary School to name our tunnelling machine. The winning entry - 'Molly the Mole' - was submitted by local pupil Aimee Stewart.
Our team volunteered to help clean up Centenary Park - we joined up with local community group 'Friends of Centenary Park' to paint the park benches and archway; clean up the playpark and do some gardening work.
