Protecting the natural environment in Irvine
We're investing in Irvine to help improve the natural environment. This work will help protect the local coastal waters and rivers.
Work is underway on the installation of a new storm water network which should be completed in late 2013. The existing storm water network will be upgraded and three new storm water pumping stations are being built. Work within Kilmarnock will be announced at a later date.

We are working with Morrison and Black & Veatch (MBV) to carry out this essential work.

Keeping you in the picture
We have already held several information evenings where we have provided details of our plans. We aim to keep local councillors, community councils, residents and businesses informed as this project progresses.
How this work will affect you
Whenever we are doing work in your area we will always ensure that any disruption to your daily lives are kept to a minimum. There should be no interruption to your water or waste water services during the installation of the network.
We may need to use temporary traffic lights or close roads and put diversions in place. This is agreed with the local Highways Authority and the Police and we work with them to try to ensure minimum disruption. At times we may also need to provide alternative footpaths and temporarily move bus stops while the work is being done. There will always be signs in place to let you know of any diversions and traffic management.
