Bilston Water Mains

Work which will see the upgrading of aging water pipes in Bilston is due to start on Monday 6th of November 2017. The project will reduce the risk of bursts and ensure our customers continue to receive highest quality water possible. It is expected to take around 6 months to complete.

Work involves replacement or re-lining of around 4km of old cast iron mains.

There will be 3-way temporary traffic lights (replacing the current traffic lights) in use at the junction of Seafield Road and Seafield Moor Road from around mid/late November. Please follow all signs in place. There will also be 2 way traffic lights during this time on Seafield Moor Road (A703) from near to Sunnyside Cottage, and moving north in sections towards Hillend.

These lights will be manually controlled from 7am to 7pm daily to ensure that any traffic disruption is kept to a minimum.

The work will progress on a rolling programme which will include work on the following streets:

  • Myrtle Crescent

  • Park Avenue

  • Stanely Avenue

  • Eskgrove Drive

  • Meadow Place

Our Alliance Partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) is carrying the work out on our behalf. As work progresses we will update this webpage and keep all affected customers up to date.
