Bilston Water Mains

On-going work to upgrade aging water pipes in Bilston will see the introduction of temporary traffic lights at a junction of the A701 (Seafield Road).

From Sunday 11 February the lights will be in use at the junction with the A703 (Seafield Moor Road).

During this time the permanent lights at the junction will be out of use and the temporary lights will operate between 7am and 7pm.

Two temporary pedestrian crossings will operate in the area while the temporary lights are in use, for approximately four weeks.

To date 3.5km of pipes have been laid as part of the £600,000 upgrade  which involves replacing or re-lining around 4km of old cast iron mains to make sure customers continue to receive clear, fresh water.

The work to reduce the risk of bursts and ensure our customers continue to receive highest quality water possible began at the start of November and is set to last up to six months.

We want to thank customers for their patience as this essential upgrade to the water network takes place.

Our Alliance Partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) is carrying the work out and as the project progresses we will update this webpage and keep all affected customers up dated.
