Earlston Pipeline Project

On 19th March, Scottish Water and alliance partners Caledonia Water Alliance, started work on a new 7KM pipeline to improve and secure water supplies in and around Earlston.

So far we have installed over 2km of pipe work and are using modern construction techniques to help minimise disruption to local people including digging small tunnels under main roads.

To enable us to carry out these works, we will be required to close some local roads, however, access will be maintained for the properties within these closures.

On 20th June, work will start on Blainslie Road (C76) for 6 weeks. The road will be closed from the junction of the A68 to the junction of Mill Road.

On 18th June, we will be carrying a shorter 2 day closure on Mill Road from the bridge at Leader Water, to the junction of Blanslie Road.

The £4 million project is part of a wider Scottish Water initiative to improve the water quality and resilience of supplies, ensuring that customers continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water now and in the future.

The pipeline will run between Rhymers Stone and finish just North of Huntshaw Road in Earlston.

This webpage will be regularly updated as the project progresses.
