Moodiesburn Environmental Improvements
Site investigation works
Work is due to start in Moodiesburn on some site investigation work ahead of a planned project to renew the overland sewer pipe that goes through The Glen area in Moodiesburn. This work will help prevent bursts and protect the local environment well into the future.
Update 27th February:
Work on the second phase of trial holes will start on 1st March 2017. This phase of work will involve the removal of trees and the temporary construction of an access track across the field form the A80 to the Strathkelvin Path. This is expected to take around 4 weeks to complete. Access will be maintained at all times but there will be a lane restriction on the A80 for the first week.
Construction of access road: March 2017
Site investigations involve a series of trial holes to help determine ground conditions ahead of the main construction work which is due to take place late next year.
Work began on the 9th January 2017. Due to the more challenging access route to the site, these investigation works are being carried out in phases which will take place roughly over a period of 4 months.
There will be a temporary diversion and access restriction to the Strathkelvin Railway Path for a short duration during the work. Please follow all signs put in place. However, vehicle access for nearby residents in Bedlay Castle Estate will be maintained at all times.
We would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation while we carry out these works.
