Community Communications

Throughout the life of any project we recognise the importance of properly informing and involving the communities impacted by our works. Having already completed an extensive consultation exercise to help establish the best location for the new Works, we have been keen to continue links with residents, neighbours and community groups within the Glencorse and Damhead area. This will ensure understanding of what is planned, designed and built as we progress through the life of the Glencorse Water Treatment Works.

Project Quarterly Updates

Each quarter we will be reporting on general progress and highlighting any issues that developed during the period.

Contractors Monthly Programme Updates

Each month we will issue an 8 week look-ahead, giving some details of the construction activities planned for the next 8 weeks.

Construction Surgery

In line with best practise adopted on other major projects across Scotland, the Glencorse Project Team promoted formation of a Community Forum to ensure healthy and effective local communications.

As the project has developed, and relationships with local representatives have grown, the initial idea of a Community Forum has been replaced with a regular Construction Surgery.

The Construction Surgery will be held in the Site offices, the last week of every month, and members of the Glencorse Project Team will be available in the afternoons and early evening to answer enquiries and discuss any issues.

Richard Anderson, Senior project Manager, said, “The Construction Surgery is seen as the best way to continue the close level of engagement that has become the standard for the Glencorse Project. We are keen to ensure neighbours and residents continue to have ready access to information, additionally this will assist our understanding of any issues within the community.”

Copies of information shared at the Construction Surgery will be posted on the website.

The Project Team can be contacted at glencorse@scottishwater.co.uk or by calling 0845 601 8855, and quoting Glencorse Water Project.
