Shona Robison said:
“Having previously visited the site, I am aware the risk of flooding in Broughty Ferry is a serious issue, not just to the properties immediately affected, but for the entire central Broughty area. Because of the capacity of the wastewater network, this is essential work - especially with the possibility of higher tides in the future due to climate change.”
Ms Robison added
“Although there is going to be extensive traffic disruption over a relatively lengthy period, I know that local traders and Councillors have been kept fully briefed and have declared themselves satisfied with the arrangements.
“Once the work is complete, Broughty Ferry will have a robust waste water system that should greatly reduce the flooding risk and this is to the benefit of the whole community.”
