What we're doing

To tackle the problem, large sections of 4in diameter old cement pipe and a small stretch of cast-iron pipe will be replaced by a new polyethylene plastic pipe, which is less susceptible to bursts and also helps provide clearer, fresher drinking water.

Area affected

There has been a history of burst pipes in the area -  which also includes Ardgryfe Crescent, Woodside, Craigholme, The Beeches, Birch Grove, Broomfield, Riverside, The Meadows, Brackendene and Crossways – which have led to interruptions to the water supply.
