Work in Aberdeenshire

£29 million in the pipeline for Aberdeenshire

In February 2008 Scottish Water revealedthe progress on the massive programme of improvements providing more reliable supplies of clearer, fresher drinking water, protecting the environment and enabling development in Aberdeenshire.

We expect to invest at least £62million in Aberdeenshire between 2006 and 2010. Since April 2007 £24million has been invested with a further £29million expected to be delivered by April 2009.

Steve Scott, Scottish Water’s communities manager for Aberdeenshire, said:

“Our vision is that by 2010 customers throughout Aberdeenshire will have more reliable supplies of clearer, fresher drinking water and the environment will be protected. From rural straths and coastal communities to the major towns, there is now a lot of work going on to improve water mains and sewers and upgrade treatment works.
