Scottish Water is helping to keep the Leith Festival in full flow
Leith Festival celebrated its 101st year in 2008, and was kept hydrated with bottled water supplies from Scottish Water.
The 7 June 2008 pageant was the culmination of the 10 day festival, and is an annual focal point for the community of Leith as a whole. The parade began in Lochend Park, winding its way down Lochend Road, Vanburg Place, Hermitage Place and Links Gardens and culminated in Leith Links.

Parade Organiser, Craig Duffy is welcoming Scottish Water’s support in the celebration of Leith’s history and identity:
“It’s fantastic to receive such welcome support from Scottish Water. These sites have been bringing fresh water to the city for as long as this Pageant has been in existence.
It’s truly wonderful that in the 101st year of the Leith Parade and Gala Day that they’ve stepped in with this very welcome support keeping the parade participants and stage-goers hydrated on what has historically been one of the hottest days. I cannot thank them enough.”
City of Edinburgh Council Leader, Jenny Dawe is also delighted to help Leith celebrate its heritage, and is pleased that Scottish Water is also playing its part in the pageant, just as it has played a part in the city’s development over the last century:
"This is another example of Scottish Water's commitment to the people of Leith. I recently helped Scottish Water launch the £10 million upgrade of their Marchbank Water Treatment Works serving this part of the city.
“It is pleasing to note that it is not just the major projects such as Marchbank and the new works at Glencorse that Scottish Water are concerned with, but that they are also prepared to support local initiatives."
