Better water for Barrhead

What we're doing

Scottish Water is to improve its service to hundreds of people in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire when an important mains replacement project is completed.

Amount invested

£300,00

Start date

7 July 2008

End date

Autumn 2008

Partners

Carillion

Area Affected

About half of the project will involve the replacement of about 750 metres of 9in iron pipe in the Springfield Road area.

This pipe will be replaced with 250mm plastic pipe which is more robust, less susceptible to bursts and will help provide better quality water. There will be some temporary traffic disruption and it is likely that there will be some traffic management put in place.

The rest of the project will comprise about another 750 metres of mains pipe replacement in nearby streets such as Ochil Drive, Campsie Drive, Pentland Court, Sidlaw Avenue, Cairngorm Crescent and Dalveen Court.
