Water services boost for the Rosneath area
What we're doing
More than 1000 people in the Rosneath area of Argyll & Bute will enjoy improved services from Scottish Water following the completion of a major project to reduce the frequency of bursts and interruptions to the water supply in the Rosneath, Clynder, Rahane, Mambeg and Rockville areas on the western shore of Gare Loch.
Amount invested
£350,000
Start date
23 June 2008
End date
Late summer 2008
Partners
Scottish Water Contracting
Area Affected
The area has been affected by disruption to the water supply in recent years, largely because a six inch mains pipe from Garelochead to Rosneath service reservoir is in poor condition.
The project will abandon 8km of this main and will also abandon the Rosneath service reservoir.
In their place we will lay about 3.5km of new mains pipe starting in Barbour Road, Kilcreggan and then along a route which roughly follows the B833 road to just south of Clachan Farm, Rosneath.
