Area Affected
Improvements to the Carron Valley water treatrment works, that were completed in March 2010 have led to clearer, fresher drinking water for customers in Denny, Dunipace, Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Falkirk and Grangemouth.
Houses at Carron Valley Dam and the hamlet of Muirlands School will also receive better quality drinking water when they are connected to a new water main to connect them to Carron Valley water treatment works.
Previously if there was any interruption to the supply, the small water treatment works had no backup stores of water. The new system will have back up storage for 24 hours and a more reliable supply will come from the larger, modern Carron Valley facility.
