What we're doing
Upgrading Ayr Pumping Station, Shore Road, reducing the risk of waste water flooding and include the installation of six new pumps and the refurbishment of five storm pumps, ensuring we meet Scottish Environment Protection Agency consent.

Area Affected
All of the work, apart from the improvements to the emergency outfall, will be carried out within the boundaries of the pumping station and it is expected that there will be no disruption and the pumping station will continue operating normally during the project.
MSP welcomes investment
Welcoming the Scottish Water investment, Mr John Scott, the Conservative MSP for Ayr, said:
“Since the serious flooding problems that occurred late in 2006, which affected many local homes and businesses, I have kept in close touch with Scottish Water to help make sure that action was taken to minimise as much as possible the threat of any future occurrences.
“Taken alongside the recently announced £100m investment package, which will include improvements to the standard of drinking water in Ayrshire, the upgrade to the pumping station is excellent news
