Scottish Water aims to deliver one of the best value for money packages in the water industry to over 5 million customers.

Central to achieving this is a commitment to corporate responsibility. This means considering the interests of society and taking responsibility for all our activities which involve or could impact on our customers, employees, stakeholders and the wider environment.

Scottish Water is committed to take action and improve the quality of life for our customers, their families and local communities across Scotland.

Commitment to the environment and a healthier Scotland

Our investment programme is one of the biggest in the UK, delivering a cleaner environment and ensuring that we play our part in a healthier Scotland. We are committed to working with environmental groups where appropriate to ensure that any project we carry out has as little impact on the natural environment.  We are also committed to Ethical Trading initiatives.  Our suppliers are continually evaluated on their environmental responsibility.

Climate change is now widely understood to be the greatest threat to our environment.  We are reducing our own energy consumption through a number of initiatives.  We also encourage our customers to use water wisely in and around the home to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.

Community

We support our employees across the business who give up their time to different fundraising ventures – particularly our supported charity, WaterAid.

We also work with schools, colleges and universities throughout Scotland.  We provide information in a fun and interactive way to help educate the pupils.

Communicating

We are dedicated to providing open and honest communication with our customers and our employees.

Our employees are our most important asset. They are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to provide a working environment that motivates, engages, supports and develops our employees.

We run a range of awareness campaigns throughout the year to provide information and tips which will benefit our customers.
