Students Are Tap of the Class in Water Campaign06 November 2019
Our New Partnership with Glasgow Clyde College
Newly branded water refill points will keep students and staff hydrated
We've teamed up with Glasgow Clyde College to boost awareness of the benefits of drinking from the tap among students and staff at three sites across Glasgow; Cardonald, Anniesland and Langside.
New Partnership Promotes Hydration
Students and staff will be topping up from the newly branded refill points.
“This partnership will remind us all to take advantage of the great drinking water we have on tap in Scotland.””Jon Vincent
Principal of Glasgow Clyde College
Together, we're urging the 17,000 students and 1,100 staff to carry a refillable bottle and top up with fresh, clear Scottish water at the tap at 47 hydration points across the 3 campuses. The water refill points feature the Your Water Your Life campaign visuals.
The College is already flying the flag for sustainability across the Further Education sector by removing single use cups from circulation at its Cardonald campus and introducing a reusable alternative. This partnership marks another key step on their sustainability journey.
Jon Vincent principal of Glasgow Clyde College, said: “We’re working hard to reduce our use of single use plastic at the College, and we actively encourage our students and staff to bring their reusable bottles and top up from our refill points. This partnership will remind us all to take advantage of the great drinking water we have on tap in Scotland.”
Speaking at the launch at the Langside Campus, Andrew Walker, Head of Communication at Scottish Water, said: “The opportunity to team up with a forward-thinking and dynamic further education establishment like this, is a simple but effective way of reminding students and staff to stay hydrated. In doing so, they can unlock the benefits of being environmentally sustainable as well as boosting performance in their studies and work.
“We’re delighted the college provides water points for students and staff. We’re doubly delighted we can team up and promote Scotland’s clean, fresh drinking water and the use of refillable bottles as part of our Your Water Your Life programme.”
