Road Traffic Management, South West Glasgow

We are advising road users in the south west of Glasgow of some road traffic management during work on a project to improve the water mains network.

Between 15 and 19 April:

  • east and westbound lane closures on Braidcraft Road near the roundabout at Linthaugh Road
  • a west-bound lane closure on Corkerhill Road at the approach to the same roundabout
  • a southbound lane closure on Linthaugh Road, also near the same roundabout

From 20 to 22 April:

  • north and southbound lane closures in Linthaugh Road between Lochar Crescent and the roundabout

All the road traffic management will be between 9pm and 6am to reduce any inconvenience to road users.

We have liaised with Glasgow City Council’s roads department when planning the road traffic management.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank affected road users in advance for their patience and understanding.

The lane closures will enable us to carry out important investigative work as part of the Glasgow Resilience Project, which involves the installation of seven miles of new pipes to connect the Glasgow area’s water network and the system in Ayrshire.

This will increase resilience and protect supplies for about one million customers.

The new water main is being installed in the Ibrox, Mosspark, Pollok, Priesthill, Nitshill and Parkhouse areas of Glasgow.

The project is being delivered for Scottish Water by Caledonia Water Alliance, our alliance partner and is expected to be completed in 2023.
