Emergency Works

To enable works on a collapsed sewer, Union Street will be closed from its junction with Auchingramont Road up to its junction with Auchincampbell Road.

We're advising road users of some road traffic management on Union Street, Hamilton to enable emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer.

From Monday 18 October, Union Street will be closed from its junction with Auchingramont Road up to its junction with Auchincampbell Road.

Road users are urged to follow diversions which have been agreed in conjunction with South Lanarkshire Council.

Access will be maintained for local residents and pedestrian access will be maintained on the south side of Union Street.

The extensive repairs will be carried out by our contractors George Leslie. The work is expected to take around 7 weeks for completion.

The road will be re-opened as soon as the work has been completed.

We are liaising with Hamilton Grammar School in order to help minimise any disruption for pupils and teaching staff.

We thank local residents and road users in advance for their patience and understanding while this essential work is carried out.

Waste and water services will not be affected by these works.
