Road Traffic Management In South West Glasgow

We're advising road users in the south west of Glasgow of some road traffic management during work on a project to improve the water mains network.

A stretch of Braidcraft Road, from the roundabout with Corkerhill Road to the roundabout at Lyoncross Road, will be closed from 4th October, 2021 and a diversion route will be in place and signposted.

The east and west bound carriageways will be closed from 4th October, 2021 to 20th October, 2021.

The east-bound carriageway will re-open on 21st October, 2021 but the west-bound carriageway will remain closed until 22nd December 22, 2021.

We have liaised with Glasgow City Council’s roads department when planning the road traffic management.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank affected road users in advance for their patience and understanding.

The road closure will enable us to carry out important pipe installation as part of the Glasgow Resilience Project, which involves the installation of seven miles of new pipes to connect the Glasgow area’s water network and the system in Ayrshire.

The project is being delivered for Scottish Water by Caledonia Water Alliance, our alliance partner and is expected to be completed in 2023.
