Tighnabruich Water Treatment Works will be shut down for 48 hours on three occasions to allow specialised pipe work in the plant to be upgraded as part of a significant investment.

To maintain supplies we will be using a fleet of tankers to top up the network at three strategic locations.

Just over 500,000 litres of water per day will be delivered by road to Tighnabruaich, Kames and Portavadie from filling points at Sandbank, Strachur and Dunoon Stadium. A total of eight vehicles will make up to three runs a day.

Customers should not be affected by the shut-down of the treatment works. The only likely impact may come from traffic noise during anti-social hours, but we will do all that we can to avoid disturbing people.

The first of three 48-hour shutdowns will take place on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 July 2023. Another will occur on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 August, and again on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 August 2023.
