Road Traffic Management in Linthaugh Road, Glasgow

Roadworks on Linthaugh Road

Road users and local residents are thanked for their patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out.

We're advising road users in the south west of Glasgow of some road traffic management in the Linthaugh Road area during work on a project to improve the water mains network.

A stretch of the southbound lane in Linthaugh Road,  from the southern junction with Lochar Crescent towards the roundabout at the junction with Corkerhill Road, will be closed in sections for eight weeks from 5 August to 28 September to enable pipe laying to be carried out.

Local diversions for southbound lane users will be in operation and signposted.

Local access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained during the work.

We have liaised with Glasgow City Council’s roads department when planning the road traffic management.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank affected road users in advance for their patience and understanding.

The road closure will enable us to carry out pipe installation work as part of the Glasgow Resilience Project, which involves the installation of seven miles of new pipes to connect the Glasgow area’s water network and the system in Ayrshire.

This will increase resilience and protect supplies for about one million customers.

The new water main is being installed in the Ibrox, Mosspark, Pollok, Priesthill, Nitshill and Parkhouse areas of Glasgow.

The project is being delivered for Scottish Water by Caledonia Water Alliance, our alliance partner and is expected to be completed in 2023.
