We would like to inform local residents and road users of our plans to install temporary road traffic management on the A7066 next to Easter Inch Roundabout, and the A706 next to Whitdale Roundabout, to allow for essential maintenance on the water network.

From Monday 23 September, a single-lane closure on a section of the A7066 next to Easter Inch Roundabout will be in place. The slip road at this location will also be closed. This is expected to last around six weeks.

The second phase of work will see a lane closure on a small section of the A706 next to Whitdale Roundabout and will commence on Tuesday 12 November for approximately three weeks.

More information regarding November’s work will follow in the coming months, including reminders across our social media channels.

Directional signage will be in place. The work is being carried out at two separate locations and will not be undertaken in conjunction with one another.

The essential maintenance includes installing multiple access points to facilitate inspections and future upkeep of a trunk main.

We understand the challenges that come with implementing temporary traffic management on a busy A road. However, given that the trunk main serves over 36,000 properties with water across Livingston, Armadale and Blackridge area, it underscores the vast scale of the infrastructure we manage and the critical need for precautionary measures, including traffic management while carrying out any maintenance.

The work is being carried out by our alliance partner, George Leslie.

We would like to thank both residents and road users for their patience and understanding throughout the duration of the work.
