Scottish Water Horizons are  installing new sewer pipes in the Echline area of South Queensferry.

Further to recent customer contacts and upon review we are aware that the customer engagement prior to starting the construction works on Echline View has fallen short of the expected standard.  I would like to offer a sincere apology to our customers affected by the disruption caused by our works.

We recognise that the amount of notice given was insufficient for the level of disruption and the communications should have included details to help customers understand the impact the works were going to have.  This would have allowed all customers sufficient time make the adjustments required.

We have taken steps to amend the programme of works and construction methodology to allow the road closure to be removed earlier than originally planned. Though, unfortunately, due to the discovery of unchartered utilities, the road closure will be in place until 1st December.  The remainder of the works will be carried out using temporary traffic lights until 15th December 2023.

There will be access and parking restrictions to a small amount of properties, whom we have written to directly, whilst the temporary traffic lights are in place.  Should any residents have specific access requirements during this time please contact us in advance to discuss.

The works are upgrading the local sewer network to allow development in the area to connect to the existing system, these works are required to increase capacity in the pipes to ensure the sewer performance is not impacted by the new development.

If anyone requires any support or would like to discuss further with the project team please contact the Scottish Water Helpdesk on 0800 0778 778 in the first instance to ensure each call is recorded and dealt with through the due process.  A member of the project team will then contact the customer directly.

Mackenzie Construction will be carrying out this work on our behalf
