Scottish Water is Driving a Greener Future15 September 2020
We’re driving a greener future with more electric and alternative fuelled vehicles joining our fleet, and additional charging points being installed at our depots across Scotland.
This has been made possible with £230,000 of funding from Transport Scotland’s Switched on Fleets initiative.
Some of the greener vehicles to recently join our fleet.
“We look forward to seeing these vehicles in action across our operational teams and welcome the contribution they'll make towards Scottish Water achieving net zero emissions by 2040.”Elaine Pringle
Through our leasing company, Arval, we have introduced twelve Nissan Leaf electric cars that will be used at offices and depots across Scotland.
Renault has also supplied us with three additional Kangoo ZE vans.
Arcola Energy has given us our first electric van with hydrogen fuel cell extender.
JCB has supplied our first full electric mini excavator for use by our water response teams.
Scottish Water's fleet manager, Elaine Pringle, said: "Scottish Water is thankful for the grant funding that we have received from Transport Scotland and Energy Savings Trust to help bring this to fruition. This really has been a partnership journey, working with our manufacturers, our leasing company and also BOTT who have provided our livery and conversion. We look forward to seeing these vehicles in action across our operational teams and welcome the contribution they'll make towards Scottish Water achieving net zero emissions by 2040."
