Dalmellington Upgrades

Roadworks will be in place to enable the works.

From Monday 1 March 2021, Scottish Water’s alliance partner, Caledonia Water Alliance, will be carrying out improvements to your local water network by upgrading the water pipes. The improvements being made here will ensure you continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water, and reduce the chance of pipes bursting.

Work to replace the water main will start in Church Hill on Monday 1st March and will move on a rolling programme into Melling Terrace, Dalton Avenue, Castle Road, Castle Croft, Townhead, Newbiggin Road, Casphairn Road, High Street, Knowehead and B741, before coming to an end on High Main Street at the junction with Gateside Road.

It is anticipated that this work will take around 29 weeks for completion.

In order for the work to take place safely, road traffic management will be in place at the following times and locations:

A road closure between 8am – 5pm on Townhead from the junction of Castle Road to the junction of High Street for approximately 2 weeks from 6th April 2021.

A road closure on High Street from number 52 to number 2 for approximately 2 weeks from 21st June 2021.

A road closure on Churchill from the junction of The Path to number 16 The Path for approximately 1 week from 23rd August 2021.

Please note that access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Road users are asked to follow local diversions and are thanked in advance for their patience and understanding.
