£85K Investment for Cambuslang
Temporary road traffic management will be in place to enable the works.
We're carrying out essential work to upgrade our water network infrastructure in Cambuslang.
Improvement works started on Monday 24 August and will involve around £85,000 of upgrades to pipework on Greenlees Road. It will be carried out by our contractor Clancy Docwra and is expected to take approximately four weeks for completion.
Temporary road traffic management has been agreed in liaison with South Lanarkshire Council to enable the work to take place.
Greenlees Road will be closed between Brownside Road and Stewarton Drive for around four weeks. Road users are asked to follow local diversions.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction of Greenlees Road and Vicarland Road to allow access to a local nursery and the train station car park.
Ruaridh MacGregor, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs regional manager, said: “This upgrade work to our water infrastructure in Cambuslang will ensure our customers can continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water.
“We’d like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and understanding while this essential improvement work is undertaken.”
To ensure the safety of our workers and local communities, work will be carried out in line with the latest Scottish government guidance during the Coronavirus pandemic.
