£1.8 million Investment to Upgrade the Water Network in Dalneigh, Inverness

The work will involve the phased renewal of around 4.7 kilometres of water mains, serving around 3500 customers within the area, to ensure that they can continue to enjoy clear, fresh and great-tasting drinking water for years to come - and reducing the risk of supply interruptions due to bursts.

This essential work will be delivered by our delivery alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance and the entire project is expect to take around 12 months to complete.

Work is expected to begin from Monday 17th August 2020

The initial phase of work, between now and the end of the year will involve a rolling programme of work in Hawthorn Drive, Caledonian Road, Limetree Avenue, Lilac Grove, Maple Drive, Rowan Road, St Francis Gardens and St Margaret’s Road.

Work to take place to upgrade 4.7km of water mains

Details of the Work

In the course of renewing the water mains and reconnecting customers’ homes, short interruptions to normal water supply will need to take place. Where customers are affected by this, they will be notified in advance with details of the date and time of planned work and advice about what to do.

The work will take place on a phased basis over the next 12 months and will involve rolling closures of sections of roads within Dalneigh, with local signposted diversions.

The onsite team will display information to inform local residents before each phase of work begins and will do all they can to maintain access and minimise disruption as far as possible.

Strict measures will also be in place to ensure that all work takes place in line with Scottish Government and Construction Scotland guidelines to safeguard our own team and the community during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we work to keep Scotland’s water flowing.
