We are carrying out essential upgrades to our water network in Greenock.
The improvement work is set to begin on Tuesday 1 October and will involve upgrades to just under half a mile of pipework in the town to help improve resilience of supply.
Work will begin at two locations; Old Inverkip Road and Inverkip Road.

To enable the work to take place, Old Inverkip Road will be closed from the junction of Inverkip Road near Auchneaugh Road to the junction of Gateside Avenue from 1st October for approximately two weeks.

Manually controlled traffic lights will be in place on a stretch of Inverkip Road from 1st October for approximately three weeks from the junction of Rankin Street to the junction of Orangefield Lane.

Work will be carried out by our alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance and is expected to take about four weeks for completion.

Joanne Craig, Customer Manager with Caledonia Water Alliance said: “This upgrade work to the water infrastructure in Greenock will ensure Scottish Water customers in the area can continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water. It will also help reduce the chance of pipes bursting.

“We’d like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and understanding while this improvement work is undertaken.”
