East Ayrshire Investment

Investing £5m in our water network infrastructure in Kilmarnock

Work commenced Monday 6 January and will involve upgrades to just over nine miles of pipework in the town to help improve resilience of supply.  Our alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance will be carrying out these works and is expected to take around five months for completion.
Work begins in Balmoral Road and Burns Avenue and will progress on a rolling programme into Glasgow Road, Mongomery Place, Landsborough Drive, Rosebank Place, Dean Street,Witchill Place, Hill Street, Garden Street, Church Street, Soulis Street, Fultons Lane, Morris Lane, Dean Lane, Thomson Street, William Street, Graithnock Drive, McIlvanney Drive, Campbelton Drive, Rothesay Place, and Turner Place, Wellington Street, before coming to an end on Ingram Place. 

Road closures will be necessary when work is being carried out on the following roads: 
Monday 17 February 2020 for two weeks - Fultons Lane from the junction of Wellington Street to Dean Lane. 

Monday 17 February 2020 for two weeks - Morris Lane from Fultons Lane to Boyd Street. 

Monday 17 February for approximately three weeks - Witch Road from Hill Street to Wellington Street  

Tuesday 2 March 2020 for one week - Garden Street from the junction of Portland Street to the junction of Hill Street. 

Monday 16 March 2020 for one week - Church Street from the junction of Union Street to near Old High Kirk. 

Monday 16 March 2020 for one week - Soulis Street from the junction of Union Street. 

Road traffic management has been agreed in conjunction with East Ayrshire Council. Temporary road traffic lights will be in operation on a rolling programme.
