Wooplaw Community Woodlands

Water Operations South Area Team help the Wooplaw Community Woodlands

The Water Ops South Team Leaders, Team Manager and Manager recently spent two days building a composting toilet, a new path to the toilet and strimmed a few miles of pathways in preparation for the Wooplaw Community Wood 25th Anniversary.

Wooplaw Wood, which is the oldest community wood in the UK, is owned and managed by Wooplaw Community Woodlands - is a charitable organisation run entirely by volunteers. They believe it is important to promote woodland culture and keep traditional woodland skills alive.

The guys worked very hard over the two days (despite heavy rain on one of the days) removing the old structure that was in place and replacing it with the new one.

The Community Wood have featured the South Team's Volunteering Day on their website with picture. Here is a quote from their site:
"The boys from Scottish Water came up trumps in the last few days and we've now got a brand new composting loo. Just ready for Wooplaw 25, so thanks lads."
