Ayrshire and East Renfrewshire Chloramination

Taking care of your water supply

If you have received a postcard to your home or business from Scottish Water it will be to let you know we are investing to improve your water supply.

As part of this, we will be changing the way we treat the water supplied to your property and we will be using a different process called chloramination.

This process is used in the treatment of water supplied to more than one million people in much of Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and other parts of the Highlands.

As part of our long-term investment programme to improve water quality to our customers, we are gradually increasing the number of areas in Scotland supplied with chloraminated water.
