As part of our capital investment programme and ongoing commitment to improve our services to customers, Scottish Water plans to address and improve the flooding problems previously experienced by customers in the area.

This work includes the construction of a large storage tank on the grassed area adjacent to Baillieston Health Centre car park and the upsizing of the existing sewer pipework along South Scott Street, Nelson Street and a section of Main Street.

Baillieston sewer upgrade works

Update: 31st of Oct

Traffic lights to be removed from Main Street/South Scott Street by the 10th of November

  • We are laying our final sections of upsized sewers in South Scott Street to help prevent sewer flooding in the area.

  • We are working in South Scott Street near the junction of Main Street. For Health and Safety reasons, we are required to put up traffic lights at the junction to ensure a safe turning can be made.

  • We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we completed this essential work.

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
