Stonehaven - Water Network Improvements

View our video here

Scottish Water alongside our alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) are carrying out a programme of works on the water network in Stonehaven.  This work will ensure that we continue to provide clear, fresh drinking water to our customers for many years to come.

Planned Works:
Our near £1 million investment will involve carrying out water mains upgrade to over 27km of water mains throughout Stonehaven.

Work is planned to start during November 2018 and the entire programme of works is expected to take approximately 5-6 months.

Most of the work involves Water Mains Lining with some sections of open cut replacement.  Mains lining involves excavating at strategic points along the route of the water main to access the main and spray the internal surface of the pipe with a lining material.

These works will be followed by a programme of mains flushing.  Flushing works are carried out at night and have minimal disruption.

As the work will be carried out on a rolling basis, affected customers will be notified prior to works commencing in any particular street.
