Project Overview

We are taking care of the water services in Kinross by upgrading the water pipes to ensure the community continues to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water, while reducing the chance of pipes bursting.

This project is being carried out on our behalf by contactor Morrison Construction lasting approximately 14 weeks and certain road closures will be required in order for the necessary work to take place.

At a glance:

  • Upgrades to Kinross water pipes
  • Work taking approx 14 weeks from 19 March 2024
  • Road closures required
  • Work being carried out on Scottish Water behalf by Morrison Construction

What happens next?

The work will start in Kinross on 19 March 2024 and last approximately 14 weeks.

The following road closures will be required during this period to allow the work to be carried out while some access and parking restrictions will also in place.

We would ask customers to use follow all of our signage in place.

The road closures are:-

  • C498 From the U225 West of Hatchbank to the B966 South of Kinross from access road to Easter Cockairney to Ardgairney Cottage.
  • C498 from the B9097 at Carsegour to the U225 West of Hatchbank from Ardgairney Cottage to Carsegour farmhouse.
  • Affected customers have already been lettered by the project team to make them aware of these closures.
  • We may need to turn off customers water supply during this project. Customers will be contacted at least 48 hours in advance, detailing the dates and times that supply will be affected and what to do.
  • During the works customers may experience a change in water pressure and/or discoloured water. If this happens customers should not be be alarmed and should turn on the cold water tap in the kitchen, letting the water flow slowly until it runs clear.

We would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding while we carry out these important upgrades to Kinross water supply.
