What are we doing?
What does the work involve?
The existing network of pipes will need to be excavated and removed before installation of the new pipes. To enable this to take place safely, traffic management measures be in place throughout much of the work and will be well sign-posted in advance.
The work may also involve some disruption to the water supply in the area, but this will be kept to a minimum. Residents will be notified at least 48 hours in advance of any planned interruption affecting their home.
Work is expected to start in March 2020 and will be carried out on Scottish Water's behalf by alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA). The project should be complete before the end of the year.
Why are we doing this work?
This work is essential to enable us to provide a secure and reliable water supply to residents in Luthermuir for the future.
Our team on site will do all they can to keep any disruption to a minimum as the project progresses and complete the work that is needed as quickly as possible.
We would like to thank residents for their patience while we have been preparing to carry out this essential work and while it is underway.
An information event was held at Luthermuir Village Hall on February 25, 2020 for customers to find out more about the project and to ask the project team any questions.
