Urgent work

Please plan your journey and allow extra time if possible. We're sorry for delays while our team works to resolve the issue and repair the road surface

Scottish Water is set to carry out an urgent sewer repair outside Trinity Church in York Place, Perth, starting from the morning of Wednesday 15th December.

To allow work to take place safely with an excavation of around 2 metres below street level, traffic management measures will need to be in place on the southbound carriageway of York Place (A93) and at the road’s junction with Caledonian Road.

The site team from Scottish Water’s contractor Morrison Construction will operate with extended working hours to reduce time to complete the repair on site. Reinstatement work will then follow to return the affected area to normal use as early as possible next week.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We need to carry out this work to repair a collapsed section of sewer beneath the road, which is currently impacting upon customers’ drainage.

"We recognise that roadworks at this location are disruptive, particularly at this important time of year for local businesses. We will do all that we can to complete the necessary work quickly so that the road can be returned to normal use as early as possible.

"We apologise for the impact this issue is having on customers and for the disruption involved in carrying out an urgent repair. We would ask road users to plan their journeys and very much appreciate their patience while our team is working to restore normal service.”
