Lerwick Rising Sewer Main Burst

We are carrying out an emergency repair on a rising sewer main in Lerwick, Shetland.
A burst on the pipe caused flooding at the roundabout on the A970 and Garthspool Road at the Co-op store. We have taken steps to reduce the amount of waste water in the system while we assess the scale of the burst and the scope of the repair required.
At the moment there is no traffic management in place but it may be required to be able to carry out the work safely. We are working with Shetland Isles Council to minimise any impact on road users.
We would like to thank all those affected for their patience and understanding while we carry out this emergency work.
