Howden Water Treatment Works Upgrade

We are investing over £8 million to upgrade the Water Treatment work at Howden near Selkirk as part of our multi-million investment which will improve the water supply in the Scottish Borders.

This project will involve the installation of a new raw water tank, the construction of a new membrane treatment building, installation of 3 new membrane units and some maintenance work on five boreholes.

During construction there will be an increase in traffic to and from site and there will be some restrictions on walking routes around the works area.

Work started in November 2020 and it is expected to completed by June 2022.

This project is being delivered by our alliance partners ESD.
