Dalgety Bay

Project Overview
We are upgrading the waste water system in Dalgety Bay to help manage heavy rainfall, protect the community from flooding and improve the water environment.
Planning permission has been submitted to Fife Council for improvement works at Sealstrand and St Bridgets Brae.
These projects have been co-ordinated for delivery to make the best use of resources and minimise disruption for residents and road users.

Dalgety Bay
The project will help prevent rags, wet wipes and other sewer related debris from entering the watercourse
What We Are Doing
New combined sewer overflow chambers will be installed at Sealstrand and St Bridgets Brae.
When excess rainwater is discharged, the new chambers will ensure any sewer related debris does not end up in the bay.
Why We Are Doing It
Working closely with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) Scottish Water identified priority storm overflows for improvement or replacement.
Under the banner ‘Draining the Rain, Enhancing the Environment’ the investment will help prevent sewage related debris such as wet wipes from entering the environment during periods of rainfall.
Community Engagement
We intend to host a drop-in public information event in the coming months where members of the project team will be available to explain more about the work involved and to take on board any concerns or questions from the community. Further information about this event will be issued in due course.
