project statys delivery

Project Overview

We are carrying out a full refurbishment of Esk Waste Water Pumping Station, to help reduce the risk of sewer flooding and protect the local environment.

Our surveys of the building and ancillary equipment identified complex and extensive work is required to restore the asset and infrastructure.

The newly paved walkway at the perimeter of the site of works at Esk Waste Water Pumping Station in Musselburgh is shown. The works are adjacent to a playing field.

We are currently carrying out essential maintenance on our pumping station in Musselburgh

Latest update - December 2025

  • The majority of our construction works are complete, replacement pumps have been installed and the station is now operational.
  • Teams are now focused on work localised to the station itself (electrical works, roof repairs, installation of security fencing and painting), as well as reinstatement works. Topsoil and re-seeding works are now taking place and areas around the station will remain fenced off to allow the grass time to regrow.
  • The temporary pedestrian footpath around the perimeter of the works site has now been removed. We have reinstated the existing riverside footpath
