Road Closure
A section of the A86 will be closed from 8pm on Friday 16 January until the morning of Monday 19 January to allow for an essential repair to the sewer network
We will soon be carrying out essential repair work to a sewer pipe beneath the A86 Trunk Road, outside Glenavon House, Main Street, Newtonmore.
To help minimise disruption, the repair to the collapsed sewer is scheduled to begin at 8pm on Friday 16 January, with our team working overnight on Friday and continuing during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
For the safety of our teams and the public, the A86 Trunk Road, outside Glenavon House on Main Street, will be closed during this time.
All being well, we hope to have the repair completed and road reinstated over the weekend and expect to reopen the road by early Monday (19 January) morning.
A signed diversion route will be in place during the closure and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Letters have been delivered to nearby residents and businesses to advise them of the upcoming works.
We appreciate that this work may cause some inconvenience and would like to thank the local community and road users for their patience while this essential repair is carried out.
