Rosebery Crescent Edinburgh Sewer Repair

Rosebery Crescent Emergency Sewer Repair
We recently carried out emergency sewer repair work in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh.
During investigations on a damaged section of sewer beneath Rosebery Crescent, we identified further damage extending to the main sewer connection on Haymarket Terrace.
Due to the size of the pipe and the depth it is buried - three metres - we had to close part of the road to carry out the work safely.

Latest Update – August 2025
Our team on site have now successfully completed all repairs on the sewer network and the road has been reopened.
A specialist drilling rig was used to support the replacement of the collapsed pipe across Rosebery Crescent Lane.
The team encountered a challenging section of concrete-encased pipe, which required additional work to break through from within the chamber, but the new pipe is now fully in place and overpumping has also been removed from site.
These essential repairs were difficult due to challenging ground conditions and multiple utilities in the ground, however our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to get this work finished.
Our contractor, Clancy, still have some remaining tasks to complete including road markings at the junction with Haymarket Terrace. These are currently being planned and we are in discussions with the council regarding timescales. More details will be shared when available.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of local residents, businesses, and road users while we carried out these essential repairs.
