Tain High Street will be closed for one week from Wednesday 21st January
We are carrying out sewer repairs on Tain High Street.
Our teams will begin repair work on a section of sewer beneath Tain High Street from Wednesday 21 January.
To allow this work to be carried out safely, the High Street will be closed to traffic while repairs and reinstatement are completed. We expect the road to reopen by the end of next week.
The work will involve repairing the sewer and replacing the associated access chamber, followed by reinstatement of the road surface.
We recognise that it has taken too long to understand and remedy the problem in this case; and apologise for the prolonged disruption experienced by local residents, businesses and road users. Our team will complete the work that is needed as quickly and safely as possible; and we would like to thank the local community and stakeholders for their patience while this essential work is carried out.
