The Return to Sewer Allowance is the percentage of water supplied to a Water Supply Point which is returned to the sewer via the corresponding Sewerage Supply Point.

By default, it is assumed that 95% of the water that goes into a non-household property is returned to the sewer as waste water.

If a Licensed Provider believes that less than 95% of their waste water is returned to the sewer at their Supply Point, they can apply to us for a reduction in the Return to Sewer Allowance, with details on how and where their water is used.

Our Return to Sewer Allowance Policy provides clear guidelines on the application of allowances.
